Itinerary

Day 1: Arusha National Park – Nature Walk & Game Drive

Highlights:

• Morning pickup from your hotel or airport in Arusha
• Short drive to Arusha National Park (approx. 45 mins)
• Guided walking safari with an armed ranger – explore the forest and grasslands on foot, spot giraffes, zebras, warthogs, and possibly colobus monkeys up close
• Visit Ngurdoto Crater (the “Little Ngorongoro”) for panoramic views
• Picnic lunch near Momella Lakes
• Afternoon game drive around Momella Lakes – look for flamingos, hippos, buffalos, and bushbucks
• Optional canoeing (if pre-arranged)
• Drive to your lodge in Arusha or Tarangire area for dinner and overnight stay

Day 2: Tarangire National Park – Full-Day Game Drive

• Wildlife sightings may include: lions, leopards, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, ostriches, and over 500 bird species
• Picnic lunch at a designated site inside the park
• Afternoon game viewing near the Tarangire River, a permanent water source that attracts many animals
• Optional visit to a Maasai boma (cultural village) on the way to your lodge

Evening drive to Karatu for dinner and overnight stay

Day 3: Ngorongoro Crater – Descend into the World’s Largest Caldera

Highlights:

• Early breakfast, followed by drive to Ngorongoro Conservation Area

• Descend 600 meters into the crater for a half- or full-day game drive (depending on your pace and interest)

Expect to see:

• black rhinos (rare), lions, hyenas, buffaloes, hippos, elephants, jackals, flamingos, zebras, and wildebeests
• Picnic lunch near Ngoitoktok Spring or Lake Magadi
• Optional short walk at the crater rim in the late afternoon
• Drive back to Karatu or Mto wa Mbu for dinner and overnight stay
