Itinerary

Day 1: Arusha – Tarangire National Park

Activities:

• Morning pick-up from your hotel/lodge in Arusha
• Scenic drive through Maasai plains and villages to Tarangire NP (approx. 2–3 hours)
• Full-day game drive in Tarangire National Park
• Spot large herds of elephants under iconic baobab trees
• Observe predators like lions and leopards
• Watch giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, and birdlife near the Tarangire River
• Enjoy a picnic lunch inside the park
• Late afternoon exit and drive to nearby lodge/campsite for dinner and overnight

Optional Add-on:

• Visit a nearby Maasai village (if time allows, extra cost)

Day 2: Tarangire – Central Serengeti

Activities:

• Early breakfast and departure towards Serengeti via the Ngorongoro Conservation Area
• En route scenic stops at crater viewpoints and Maasai settlements
• Game drive en route through southern and central Serengeti plains
• Afternoon arrival and game viewing in Central Serengeti (Seronera Valley)
• Excellent opportunity to spot big cats (lions, cheetahs, leopards)
• Watch the interaction between predators and grazers like gazelles and topis
• Sundowner-style game drive before reaching your camp/lodge
• Dinner and overnight in Central Serengeti

Day 3: Full Day Game Drive in Central Serengeti

Activities:

• Full-day game drive with picnic lunch or return to camp for hot lunch
• Explore different habitats: river valleys, open plains, kopjes
• High chances of seeing the Big Five: lion, elephant, leopard, buffalo, rhino (rare)
• Observe the Great Migration (if timing aligns: typically April–June in central area)
• Track predator activity—especially during early morning and late afternoon
• Optional visit to a hippo pool or panoramic viewing points
• Dinner and overnight at the same lodge/camp

Day 4: Serengeti – Ngorongoro Conservation Area (en route)

Activities:

• Early morning game drive in Serengeti to catch wildlife at sunrise
• Breakfast at camp or picnic-style in the bush
• Continue game driving while exiting the Serengeti
• Scenic drive through the Ngorongoro highlands with photo stops
• Optional cultural visit: Maasai boma or Olduvai Gorge Museum (on request)
• Arrive at lodge near the crater rim in the late afternoon
• Dinner and overnight in Ngorongoro/karatu area

Day 5: Ngorongoro Crater – Arusha

Activities:

• Early breakfast and descend into Ngorongoro Crater for a 6-hour crater tour
• Spot rhinos, lions, hyenas, elephants, flamingos, and hippos
• Enjoy the diversity of landscapes from forested walls to open savannahs
• Picnic lunch near a hippo pool inside the crater
• Mid-afternoon ascent and drive back to Arusha
• Drop-off at your hotel, Kilimanjaro Airport (JRO), or Arusha Airport
